At Sturbridge Rec, we love to have fun. Playing games, swimming, crafts, whatever! While many of these activities will have positive effects, such as increasing physical health and inspiring creativity, a leader is looking for more. LIT is our Leader in Training program, designed to give the desired education and experience to set you up to become one of the new generation of leaders. Whether in the business world, civics, or simply volunteer, there are several core values to leadership. Our Leader In Training program is built on the mindset that there are three pillars to leadership. These pillars are made up of core values in Personal traits, Relational capabilities, and Professional excellence. In this program, we will dig in to these concepts and work to help you understand what these are and how you can develop them. We strongly believe that everyone is a leader to some extent. Our actions influence and impact others around us. Having an official title is not a requirement for leadership. Because of this, we feel that it is important for everyone to understand what is required for good leadership, and that is why we run this program. For the participants, it is still the same fun summer rec program they're used to, but we add in a couple basic leadership lessons each week and have special guest leaders from the community come in to have lunch and chat about what leadership means to them and their path to leadership.Pricing is $50/week - While they don't have to come every week, it is advised that they are there as much as possible! Maximum price per child is $250 (second child maximum is $225, Max $600/family) - Discounts will be done manually in the office, so don't worry if your price is over the cap when you first register. Please contact us if there are financial hardships.
